Food - Japanese style

Today I decided to take some photos with a 'food' theme. It is really interesting to stop and look at posters advertising food, the vending machines, street stalls and food in the local 'Lawsons' (dairies). We are staying close to a small shopping centre that has a Japanese food alleyway.
Today some of us enjoyed lunch there which were traditional style potato pancakes and Brooke enjoyed frankfurters on a stick. She even asked for a second serving in Japanese!
I think Connor and Brooke's first choice of lunch was an ice cream but they were told they could have one AFTER they had eaten 'lunch' food. Must be annoying to have tour guides who have been your teacher and are also mothers!!
Last night Jo and Lukas ordered traditional Japanese food off a menu board. It looked delicious but when they got it, the rice appeared to be moving!!!! Ms Spencer explained it would be fish flakes that absorbed the heat and moved. Lukas was not convinced and enjoyed KFC instead.

  3. How great that everyone seems to be trying new kinds of food. I don't think I would eat moving rice either....
